Along with health benefits, our bread has community benefits as well. Currently, every bake day helps support a community of Muslim Afghan refugees get fresh nutritious bread. As a part of our faith-based mission, we believe in feeding those in need. By choosing our bread, you're not just enjoying a delicious, healthy staple, you're also making a difference in someone's life. As of writing this we have donated about half of what we have baked to that community.

MATT & PENNY
Matt and Penny started 5000 Bakery.
They have been baking together for more than 10 years. The last three years have been focused on developing the right methods and recipe for the most delicious sourdough they can muster. We’ve finally hit the sweet spot - we think - but we better taste just one more slice to make sure.
Back in 2000, when they first met, Penny introduced Matt to true Christian faith and to what a real relationship with the Lord is like. She rolls her eyes when he says it, but she saved his life.
Now, both are called to and have strong desires to serve the underprivileged. Combined with their skill and passion for baking they are excited to bring you Five Thousand Bread & Bakery and look forward to serving the community .
